About Us
Cryptic Tattoo
Dedicated to the pursuit of excellence, the embrace of creativity, and cultivation of community.
Since 2010, Cryptic Tattoo has had a relentless commitment to providing top quality tattoos to our clients.
Cryptic Tattoo was founded in 2010 by Carlos Macias. The fascination with tattooing was born when he was just 12 years old after watching his father get tattooed in a kitchen by a family friend using a homemade machine. Nearly immediately after, Carlos made his own machine and inked his first tattoo. What followed was a lifelong dedication to excellence, learning, and cultivating culture.
For over 15 years Cryptic Tattoo has been a staple in Azusa, California. Its become home to several award winning artists such as Tattoo Louie, El Franco, Marky Chavez, and more. The team, being the relentless crew they are, didn’t limit themselves to beautiful Southern California and have been traveling the world inking ink fans in nearly every continent.

Community Builders
As much as we pride ourselves on the quality of our tattoos, the community and culture we've helped create is a close rival. Our studio is a welcoming place where locals, travelers, and dreamers can come together to share stories, ideas, and creativity. We've fostered a tight-knit family of artists and clients who support one another, host events, and give back to the neighborhood that embraces us. Perhaps the most notable event we throw is Cruising Back 2 Route 66. Apart from it being an event where lowrider owner can show up and cruise, it's also a kid's toy drive with multiple vendors, live music, and awards. This event draws in thousands of people to the city of Azusa for an afternoon of fun.
